Course Details

Looking for a career in the motor vehicle industry or just have a passion for motor vehicles? This course is designed to provide you, as a full-time student, with both the knowledge, skills and practical experience required for you to progress towards employment.

Entry Requirements

You will have completed a level 1 & 2 course, such as the City and Guilds 4290, and it is recommended that you are working towards level 2/GCSE in maths and English. You will also need to complete a successful interview with the course tutor and an initial written assignment.

Career options

If you find employment within the timeframe you can be upgraded from the VRQ full time course to a NVQ apprenticeship. Once this course is completed you may be able to be employed by one of our exciting local franchise companies such as Rolls Royce.

What you need to know

What will I study?

You will have a wide range of opportunities to develop your skills both practically in the workshop and theoretically in the classroom. You will not meet the required standards but work towards exceeding them. Time will be given for you to develop your own style and techniques. Linked to the main qualification you will also study English and maths working towards level 2 and GCSE. The development of your personalised enterprise passport and enrichment activities fully enhance this course.

How will I be taught?

You will be taaugh via a mixture of theory and practical lessons. In addition to the main qualification you will study towards Level 2 Maths and English Functional Skills.

How will I be assessed?

The course is broken down into units where students have both a practical and written assessments. The full assessment methods will be discussed during interview.
